Courage Ride Hawkeye Rest Stop - North English City Park

Highway 149, North English, East of Casey's General Store

The North English-Hawkeye rest stop is open from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Snack-pack treats, watermelon and drinks will be served throughout the day.  Lunch will be served to riders 10:30 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.   Live entertainment 10:30 am  - 2:30 pm. The following schedule is a general timeline for events at the North English Rest Stop.   Celebrity appearances and other factors could change this schedule.   

8:00 a.m.:       Members of Farmers Lodge organizing committee on-site.

 8:15 a.m.:       Chest cooler, drink coolers, watermelon and snack packs delivered.

                        (or Farmers Lodge picks up at IMS.)

 9:00 a.m.:     Hawkeye Rest stop opens for riders and general public.

10:15 a.m.:     Banjoy band sets up in Upper Shelter.

10:30 a.m.:     Banjoy Band and Zach Grimm, Fiddle Phenom, open in Upper Shelter.                           Lunch served by Stutzman’s Country Kitchen.                

 11:00 a.m       Band first set ends, Celebrity appearance on stage (Upper Shelter.)

 11:15 a.m.      Band begins second set.

 11:45 a.m.:     Band second set ends, Celebrity appearance on stage.  Hawkeye athletes.   

 12:00 Noon:   Bluegrass musicians jam session in Lower Shelter.   

12:15 p.m.:     Celebrity Emcee takes stage – Interview with celebrity appearance or Hawkeye athletes

12:30 p.m.      Band begins third set. (Celebrity appearances between songs.)

1:10 p.m.        Band ends third set.    Celebrity Emcee takes stage.  Celebrity Appearances  or Hawkeye athletes on stage. 

1:30 p.m.        Emcee introduces band.  Band begins fourth set.  Celebrity appearances.

2:30 p.m.        Band ends fourth set. 

2:30 p.m.       Jam sessions continue Upper and Lower Shelters.

 4:00 p.m.      North English-Hawkeye Rest Stop closes.  Clean-up begins.

 

   

Activities at the North English Stop are open to the general public. Come Join us for a great day of live Bluegrass music and entertainment!

Last year, 326 riders came through the rest stops.  Please join us in greeting the riders as they show their support for cancer survivors and continued research at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
